The Organisation
Aisling Project Ltd manages five Aisling Project centres across Ballymun. The Projects are an after school service for children and young people aged from 7-15yrs. Aisling Project aims to prevent early school leaving, support the community as a whole and improve school retention by running after-school intervention projects for children and young people from the Ballymun area.

The Role

We wish to recruit: Project Coordinator (Youth Worker), Fixed Term 12 Month Contract.

CDYSB Youth Worker salary scales will apply.
Working a 35hr week, Monday to Friday with Aisling Project, Ballymun.

The Coordinator will work within the spirit and ethos of Aisling Project.
Aisling Project is an after school project working with children and their families from all across Ballymun.  Our stated aim within Aisling Project is to provide purposeful activity in a caring and secure environment in an attempt to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each individual child.
Ultimately, the Coordinator will ensure that, as set down in the objectives of the project, the children who attend Aisling Project are the priority of the project.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• The successful candidate will have a degree in Youth Work, Youth and Community Work, Community Development or equivalent relevant Qualification.
• Have experience in Leading and Managing a team of staff/volunteers.
• Experience working with groups of young people (from 7 years +)
• Experience of managing budgets, reports and proposals.
• The candidate must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including a high degree of computer proficiency.

Duties:
The Coordinator will:

• Work with children - organise indoor and outdoor activities, including Homework,  Dinner each day, Literacy Development, Educational projects, Environmental awareness projects, Arts & Crafts etc.
• Have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project in accordance  with the objectives of the project as identified by the Project Leader and the Board of Directors and will work with flexibility and diligence in meeting this responsibility.
• Be responsible for the supervision of part-time staff and voluntary workers.
• Be responsible for staff development.
• Be responsible for financial control, day-to-day spending and book-keeping.
• Liaise with Project Leader, Parents/Guardians and Schools on an on-going basis
• Attend meetings and furnish on-going reports to the Project Leader as required.

Terms and Conditions

• The post is offered on a one year fixed term contract basis
• Salary is based on CDYSB Youth Worker Salary Scale
• 35 hours per week
• Based in Aisling Project, Ballymun
• All positions in Aisling Project are subject to Garda vetting and full reference checks.
